What to do if you smell gas:

  • Extinguish all open flames and/or sparks in the area.
  • If possible, turn off the gas supply to the individual appliance.
  • Do not operate electrical switches, telephones or appliances.
  • Leave your house and walk to a neighbor’s home.
  • Do not operate motor vehicles in the area.
  • From the neighbor’s house, call our 24-hour emergency line.

Cooler temperatures can lead to higher gas usage. These quick tips can help reduce usage:

Heating tips:

  • Set your thermostat to 68–70°F.
  • Seal windows and doors.

Gas stove tips:

  • Use cookware that matches the burner size.
  • Keep burners clean for an efficient flame.

Water heater tips:

  • Set your water heater to 120°F to save energy.
  • Take shorter showers or use low-flow showerheads to reduce hot water demand.
